Re: Where to get biodiesel in Pennsylvania
Export Fuel we believe was the first retail source of biodiesel in Pennsylvania. They have an indoor yearround B100 pump:
Export Fuel Company, Inc.
Rd # 7, Box 455
Route 66 North
Export, PA 15632
Telephone: 724-468-4185
Hours: Monday-Friday: 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. (M-F, commonly open until 6-7 p.m., just call ahead), Saturday 6am to 1pm.
Attn.: Richard Morchesky, Kathy Mertsch.
The Export Fuel site is on the west side of RT. 66: Look for a big RV dealer and Miller's Marine, 3 miles N of Rt. 22, 2 miles N Delmont, and 10 miles E of Monroeville and Exit 16A on the PA Turnpike. There is currently no sign out on Rt. 66, so look for the gate and a small paved road that leads down to Export Fuel.
Their retail price for B100 was between $2.15 and $2.40/gal in Fall 2002. B100 price per gallon was $2.98/gal from 4/4/2003 to 3/4/2004. B100 price per gallon was $3.52 as of 9/29/2004.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another source of B100 is Downard Distributing in Carrollton, Ohio. They are about an hour west of Pittsburgh, and 20-30 minutes from Steubenville. They sell B100 in any amount, as well as in 5 gal pails and 55 gal drums. They also bulk deliver the B100. Call ahead and talk to Andrea (800-950-2515, 330-627-2515). Their retail price for B100 was $2.50/gal in 2002.

Re: Where to get biodiesel in Pennsylvania
FYI, a new station is opening. It's B5, but you could speak to Worley & Obetz about purchasing higher blends and I am sure they would be very happy to help you.
Manheim Wo-Go to open B5 Biodiesel Pump June 28
Facility will be first public access retail for soy-based fuel
(MANHEIM, PA.) – Worley and Obetz, Inc. plans to open a B5 biodiesel fuel pump at its Wo-Go station in Manheim, Pa., June 28, 2004. It will be the first public-access B5 retail site in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
B5 is a blend of 95 percent petroleum diesel and five percent biodiesel, an environmentally friendly alternative diesel fuel derived from fats and oils, such as soybean oil. Blending biodiesel with petroleum diesel reduces tailpipe emissions, improves the lubricating qualities of the fuel mixture, and increases the fuel’s cetane levels for premium performance.

Re: Where to get biodiesel in Pennsylvania
Hello All,
The Energy Cooperative (www.theenergy.coop), a Philadelphia based nonprofit cooperative serving 6500 members throughout southeast PA, has spun off a new company, Philadelphia Fry-o-Diesel (www.fryodiesel.com), that is developing a demonstration-scale biodiesel production facility. Our intent is to scale up to a commercial volume in order to serve the local demand. We will be using trapgrease as a feedstock.
In the mean time, The Energy Cooperative is developing a distribution network for local fleets and individual users. Please email ecapstaff@theenergy.coop if you are interested.
We also coordinate the U.S. Dept. of Energy program Greater Philadelphia Clean Cities (www.phillycleancities.org), and through this venue are working diligently to install a biodiesel pump (B20) in Philadelphia.
We are eager to develop the same type of biodiesel momentum that exists so successfully in other cities (Berkeley, Cambridge, etc.)

Re: Where to get biodiesel in Pennsylvania
Worley and Obetz out of Mannheim PA recently delivered B99.9 into 55 gallon drums all the way out near the Delaware river in eastern PA. It was less than $2.50 a gallon, since it was "off road" (not going directly into vehicles). I'm running it straight, no problems, looks very clean. I don't know what the minimum is. I believe our group bought over 400 gallons to get that price, but the break may be lower. If you can find some barrels and a place to keep them near a route where they are delivering home heating oil, it should be a snap. I don't think they will fill small containers like Taylor does, I believe you have to have 55 gallon drums at least, since the truck pumps at 50 gallons a minute or so. But I didn't make the arrangements, call them up and find out for sure. They are very nice:
http://www.worleyobetz.com/
My understanding is the delivery truck has B20 in the main tanks for regular customers and B99.9 in the 500 gallon auxiliary tank. (B100 doesn't get the tax break.)

Re: Where to get biodiesel in Pennsylvania
Sept 2006: New B5 pumps are now available in the Philly area. Here's the post:

Oehlert Bros http://www.theenergyexperts.com of Limerick/Royersford, PA is now pumping B5 in all their Cardlock pumps. That means all the commerical fleets and Buses in our area filling up there are using B5. Though the inidividual can get a card to pump up.
I have been in Contact with one of the Oehlerts. They are interested in possibibly offering a higher blend of BioD maybe B20/B30 or higher. Though, the interest needs to be there. I am thinking of hosting a Mont/Chestco GTG to discuss this option for us. Maybe in two weeks on Saturday the OCT 7th?
They get their Biod from Independence BioFuels.

Re: Where to get biodiesel in Pennsylvania
Just filled up with b100 from the pump in Strasburg.
HC Rineer & Sons, Inc.
902 Strasburg Pike
Strasburg, PA 17579
717-687-7341
B5 up to B99
Three diesel pumps.
Two are B5 and one is B100. All are CC activated if the office is not open.
As of Nov 1 the B100 pump is only open during office hours and only to container pumping to blended by the consumer due to "gelling concerns" Pump will be reopened 24/7 in the spring.
