    new truck in the family

Ok, so here it goes I am 18 and was truly a kid who could care less about the enviroment then i was forced by school requirement my senior year of high school to take an enviromental class well i guess some of it rubbed off on me because i have been working on converting my parents (who belive capitalism is god, money is power, and all things big and stately are great) i jsut convinced my dad to buy a volkswagon v10 tdi for my moms xmas present it is in the shop now getting stickers on it saying powered by biodiesel. The problem with this is i have no clue where to find a biodiesel filling station. is there a web page any one could direct me to that would locate such a station. seccondly is the biodiesel i am going to use in the burners in my house the same as the diesel i could use in my car or are they two different things?? thanks for all the help sorry if this is a repost

Go to http://www.biodiesel.org/ click on the "buying Biodiesel" button at the top of the page and it will show you a map of retailers. That website has a ton of info on bio. As for your second question, I have no idea. There is a forum on this site, I believe, that deals with bio as a heating fuel.

     Good Luck!

You can simply tell your parents that they're being patriotic by supporting American farmers instead of dictators who hate us. Devil Plus, it keeps dollars in the American economy... you can put the environmental benefits way down the list.

There's a bunch of information on the site and forums and we have many relevant links. And as pointsman said, we also have a bioheat forum. Good luck, and post back about how it goes.

    Good for you man!!

Volkswagens are awsome. I own an old VW Rabbit diesel but it's just the old standard 1.6L 4cyl.

TDI's I here are really cool. My mom tried one out when she went to buy a new VW Jetta. She said she didnt' get the TDI because when she drove it it just about made her eyeballs go in the back of her head! They've got lot's of power being a diesel.

My suggestion is to visit www.journeytoforever.com and click on the 5 gallon processor link. It will show you how with just a power drill and a five gallon steel bucket that you can make quality biodiesel every week!

    Good luck
