The Power Market Analyst is an intensive modelling role that requires the development and maintenance of both internal and external quantitative and fundamental models for various power markets across the
US
.
Accountabilities Include:
·
Lead the fundamental analysis of key power markets to underpin economic assumptions for investment decision making.
·
Develop and run market models and report analysis in a concise, accessible manner, providing fit for purpose assurance.
·
Identify opportunities and risks from market structural and regulatory insights and advise on preferred structures/ regulation that will favor US wind and solar projects.
·
Stay abreast of new market modeling techniques and market developments and incorporate these as appropriate.
·
Assist in regional analyses of power, competing fuel and emissions markets as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of
Power Market Analyst applicants must have:
Legal authorization to work in the
US
on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Experience with fundamental analysis of key power markets.
Experience with quantitative/fundamental modeling.
A strong analytical background running complex based mathematical based models.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
Strong skills with MS Word.
Master skills with MS Excel.
Strong skills with MS PowerPoint.
Strong skills with MS Access.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:
A Master’s Degree.
Experience in energy market modeling.
