    algae for fuel

I'm interested in seeing if it is possible set up a home system that would be economically viable and be capable of producing quantities sufficient for my own use. What I lack is specific knowledge like what the best type of algae is to try, the CO2 to oxygen ratio to provide optimum growth. I would also like some tech advice on things like the amount of lumens required by algae to produce optimum results. The reason I'm asking is I've read of using fiber optics to provide light to the algae. Is this possible? Can anyone point me to any literature that would help. I've seen lots of discussions concerning this topic but very little real info. Thanks!!!!
