Looking to start homebrew group Hagerstown, Panhandle of WV

I live between Martinsburg, WV and Hagerstown, MD right off I-81. I have been making homebrew Bio-D approximately 18 months and looking for others interested in same. Maybe to start a co-op or trade WVO for Bio-D.

Were new to this but are interested.   Have lots of questions.   What do you use your biofuel in?     Any problems?  What is cost?   Just the basic questions for a newby.   Were in Hagerstown, MD.

     Thanks.  Kandie

Re: Looking to start homebrew group Hagerstown, Panhandle of WV

I have a 1986 BMW 524td, BMW only made diesels for three years and this was the last year. Some say the best diesel engine ever made but because it was only made for three years expensive to maintain. Problems: you have to change your oil filter after the first 100-400 miles because the bio-d cleans out your tank and fuel lines. Also you can not run Bio-d very well in the winter. Cost: I just called to check the price on methanol it's $200 For 55 gal. which means I can make bio-d for well under a $1.00 / gal. but if you value your time alot it cost more than that. the most time consuming part is collecting your oil. E-mail me Sniper4@comcast.net with contact info and I can show you my set up if you want and you can decide for yourself if it worth your time.

I live near Hagerstown and am interested in getting into making it for my self or seeing what can worked out in trade.  I have seen several vidios on how to make it but I would like to see it done in person. If anyone can show me how its done in person i would be very interested.

You can contact me at www.zane511@yahoo.com
