I started the car one morning to find that my 1998 TDI didn't have power steering. Got out and saw that all the fluid was leaking out. After it all drained, I took out the reservoir and saw a gash on the bottom edge of it. Does anyone know if there is a malfunctioning nearby part that would cause this, or if it's just a fluke thing that flew up and broke it? Any suggestions would be helpful ASAP. I've got a replacement part and am embarking on a long trip in a couple days. It just occurred to me that the gash may indicate another problem. Thanks!
