    flamability?

at what points in the process are things most flamable?  from what I gather it is more or less the methoxide.  are the fumes as flamable as the liquid?  I know the whole thing can be flamable with out care, but I just want to know where the special attention is need the most.

    Thanks

    Re: flamability?

The vapors of any volatle liquid are the most dangerous,(explosive) in high concentrations. Methanol is quick to vaporize at relatively low temperatures. No open head processors, only use sealed and pressure relief processors. Methanol liquid is easily absorbed thru the skin, avoid contact or inhalation of vapors. Naoh or Koh is a caustic high Alkaline will burn on contact with bare skin. Treat the WHOLE PROCESS for what it is ... a "CHEMICAL REACTION WITH DANGEROUS CHEMICALS" Regards, Joe.D
