    F 350 engine light??

    Hello All,

I own a '99 F350 7.3L powerstroke, running on B100 for the last 18 mths now. For about a month or so the "service engine soon" light has been on. Although I changed the oil, filter and fuel filter, the light stays.

Does that mean the computer finally realized the different fuel composition, and I shouldn't worry too much about it, or is there anything bigger going on?

    Any advise or similar experiences?

I own a 95 F 350 powerstroke its been recalled by ford for a faulty timing belt sensor does your truck just stop running suddenly? if so its more than likely that sensor if you didnt get a notice it still might be a good idea  to check and see if your truck is under the recall if i remember, your date model is covered. by this

    No Marc,

As a matter of fact, the truck performs great as usual. It's almost as if the idiot light is malfunctining.

    Hy Thomas

The check engine light can come on for may different reasons like a faulty sensor or connection, If you have been running BD for 18 months I doubt the computer just found out your running on DB. It sound like you need a qualified tech with a scanner to test your truck.

                 Good luck.                      Tony

    Thank you Tony,

But won't that qualified technician point the problem directly to the BD??

Don't say anythign abotu BD and see what the tech says it is.  They hook up the scanner and it will probably be a faulty O2 sensor or something, which has nothign to do with BD.

I agree with Bryan don't tell them you are running bd. If the truck ran fine for 1 1/2 years with no problems there is a good chance it's not the bd. If they tell you it is a fuel related problem then and only then would I tell them your running bd. Other wise the first thing they tell you is your problem is cause from the bd.
