New to Biodiesel and want to build a processor

Hi all, I was wondering if there are any plans out there for building a processor out of poly cone bottom tanks, I see a lot for steel/stainless. Could I use one of those plans with a little tweaking? Any suggestions/advice welcome. Thanks

Hey Danny, I am new to biodiesel also, but from what i read you should stay away from poly processors.  Make it with steel.

There are many discussions here on why to stay away from plastic.  Mostly for safety as plastic cannot stand heat as well as steel, but it's harder to make quality fuel as plastic tanks cannot be directly heated and lose heat during processing.

    Good advise there from old300D.

The only place for poly tanks in biodiesel production is wash tanks.

Use a water heater as a processor, and heated barrels for incomming oil.

Would like to see BRENTSBG response to this topic. He is a member of this forum and sells Poly units.
