    Drying Test Batch etc.

Hi, new to post but have been reading often.  My question is probably pretty stupid but here goes.  I bought

a processor and have been modifying to suit while making small test batches.  I made a few bad batches

and corrected, I have made a few good batches that pass %, separation, and have let dry in open top 2 qt.

jar for a couple of days now.  Bio looks very light and very clear and I want to run the 3/27 test but how can

I tell for sure it is dry?  I actually poured maybe 30 ml in a big pan and tried to light but will not (not dry yet?)

or should it even light?  Being an engineer albeit not chemical, I understand how atomization and pressure

works for fuels and aids in the combustion process but even without most fuels will at least burn, is bio

different?  The batch I tried to light is my own turkey fryer oil I have been working with so it was pretty

clean, titrated at .2 so I used 5.2 and 20% Meth per liter.  Mixed, drained, and washed 4X.

Thanks for any help you can give me, we are currently collecting oil and want to get this under my belt

before I work the large batches.

    Thanks,

I've been looking into biodiesel for about a year now, and I'm about ready to assemble my processor. From what I've read and understand, bio is very stable and will not ignite in pure liquid form (i.e. in a pan). If you look at the videos posted by the guy with Utah biodiesel, he demonstrates it in one of them. However, if you use a water bottle sprayer and use it to spray bio onto a flame, it ignites rather well. Hope that helps.

Thanks gfyrsng, I had actually talked to a rep at a lab that does ASTM testing and he confirmed what you just replied with.  Trying to get my processor ironed out the way I want it and quality checks in place before I start brewing.  We have negotiated with 3 restaurants and have barrels at each collecting oil.  Can't wait to get that first barrel in.

     Thanks,
