BioDieselNow - Renewable biodiesel fuel

anyone around in corpus christi or aransas pass, rockport or ingleside making home brew biodiesel? with any luck and VA financing, there may be a new oil source for you. I'll be growing jatropha curcas in Aransas Pass and providing oil for home brewers. it would be great to know who will be interested in obtaining the oil, helps to plan out how much to grow and produce.

Just spoke with an interested party, I had been in touch with them for the past couple of months, we have an agreement drawn up. They should be down on thursday to clear the land (mowing), then, its plow and plant.

35 acres! i hope this one comes through, its marginal land, has a water supply, a few small outbuildings that can be converted to greenhouse/aeroponic areas, not too terribly far to drive over for the weekend and maybe some weeknights and get a bit of work done.

with any luck, by this time next year, I'll be selling my 3rd or 4th supply of oil to Texas bio-refineries.

not getting too excited about it, I've had a couple of people up to this point and they've backed out for one reason or another. When I plant the first tree in the ground I'll start getting excited. Just hope we have a mild winter this year. LOL.

by the way, did you find out about the 8" planters? how many and how much? i could use a few hundred it seems.

Looks like i was right not to get excited about the 35 acres, havent heard a word from them.

in the meanwhile, I've planted 2 more groups, first one of 40 (with 75% germination rate so far)

and 1 more group of 100, should expect a few seedlings today or perhaps tomorrow.

should put me at 400 or more ranging in size from seedling to the 4 foot tree i got from my very first sapling.

growing well here in south texas, we'll see how they do over the winter.

also looks like Im alone in my endeavours for serious south texas growers. i saw some seeds on craigslist, some guy bought 100 for $14, planted 60 of the seeds and had the other 40 up for sale for $20. LOL wonder what he's going to do with 60 plants?

ah well, always wanted to blaze a trail somewhere. looks like its here. :)
