I havent really TRIED any OTHER pump. I also have a honda 5.5hp 2". It worked well all Winter here (sometimes 10 to 20 Degrees F). I tried to collect all oil when its above freezinig. Since its hard for me to make a lot of bio in the Winter here (for lack of heated building) I try to get most of my oil from 'seasonal' places rather than very large (Pizza Hut) places.
My pump works great, sometimes when its REAL cold it sucks air or makes air pockets in the oil, but if you move it around and stir it up it will suck fairly quick. I made a stiff attatchment for the end of my hose with PVC and cut the end at an angle so I can put it right on the bottom of my drums and also acts as a nice stirring device too.
MOST oil will pump real nice and fast even at half throttle. The Winter Oil I need 3/4 throttle, and occasionally full throttle for a bit of time.
