I realize that some of you pay taxes and some don't for one reason or another....and that's fine
The question I would like to have answered is: Are there (and what are they) taxes on making (fuel) biodiesel at home?
I've 'heard' there's no tax if you produce less then 400 gallons in a (calendar) quarter (3 month period). And not over 1600 gallons/year. I have never found a legit source for information.
I searched PA's Dept of Rev. website and can't find anything that specifically states 'Biodiesel' or Alternative Diesel. There are some areas that do specifically exclude Alternative Fuels (ie: no tax).
Liquid Fuels and Fuels Taxes : http://www.revenue.state.pa.us/revenue/cwp/view.asp?A=11&Q=48821
Alternative Fuels Tax http://www.revenue.state.pa.us/revenue/cwp/view.asp?A=11&Q=48870
I'd like to have my ducks in a row in case I am asked or approached with this question.
Thanks,
Justluckey (Northeast PA)
