Looking to build a biodiesel facility

We are a non-profit food bank, in Yuma, Arizona looking to build a biodiesel facility for use in our trucks. We would like to produce at least a thousand gallons of fuel each month, yet more would be superior. Whereby supplementing other non-profits and even the school districts. We have about $1,000 in the budget at this time and a few hundred gallons per month of waste oil commitments. While working on more.

We are looking for advice and possible options at this time. We’ve looked at some companies who manufacture this type of equipment, but don’t know enough of the industry who has a good reputation and who to avoid. Also, which system to purchase and which size. Should we wait and set aside more funds, or plunge in and buy a smaller unit.

    Any good advice is welcome.

I don't think $1000 will even allow you to build a system that will approach 1000 gallons a month.

Check out www.murphysmachines.com it will take a lot of work but this is the best system I have found if you are on a really tight budget.  I have spent many $1000's on my processor and am still not done.

    Hi Merv,

Perhaps you should explain why someone would pay for your single-penned book when there is so much open source information already available for free. There's the Collaborative Biodiesel Tutorial and Hans Huth's Biodiesel 101 guide, both of which have peer-review and are updated regularly - and are FREE. What separates your book from the hoard of Ebay scam books that offer no information from less-than-credible sources? Are you a trained chemist or engineer? pipefitter or related tradesperson?
