     3.      Members report potential conflicts of interest regarding today’s business
9:35 a.m.    4.    Welcome and overview of the Southern Research and Outreach Center (Forest Izuno, Director)
9:45 a.m.    5.    Energy and Biofuels Final Recommendations – Statewide Conservation and Preservation Plan (SCPP)
­    Overview and discussion of Energy and Biofuels team’s final recommendations (Dr. David Mulla, U of M; Dr. Donald Fosnacht, U of M; Dr. George Host, U of M; and Dr. Laura Schmitt Olabisi, U of M)
12:15 p.m.        Lunch (outside courtyard - weather permitting)
1:00 p.m.    6.    LCCMR member discussion of potential Energy and Biofuels Final Recommendations to include in Phase 2 of the Request for Proposal (RFP)
­    Begin discussion of Phase 2 Request for Proposals (RFP) based on information presented by the three in-depth team discussions of the Statewide Conservation and Preservation Plan
2:30 p.m.    7.    Update on M.L. 2007, Chp. 30, Sec. 2, Subd. 5(o) “Pyrolysis Pilot Project” and an update on algae as biomass research (Dr. Roger Ruan, U of M)
3:00 p.m.    8.    Site visit to the Agro-Ecology Farm at the Southern Research and Outreach Center
-     Overview of biofuels research – woody and herbaceous crops (Dr. Craig Sheaffer, U of M)
-     Overview of perennial crops research related to soil erosion (Dr. Gary Sands)
-     Overview of drainage research; tile experiments related to depth, spacing, tile blocks and control structures related to wetlands (Dr. Gregg Johnson)
4:00 p.m.    9.     Adjourn and depart to State Office Building (arrive at approximately  5:30 p.m.)
Next LCCMR meeting is scheduled for July 18. Site visit to the St. Anthony Fall Laboratory and business meeting at the State Office Building to finalize the Request for Proposals (RFP).
