Idea [I] Where to get biodiesel in California

Please use this forum to list locations biodiesel can be bought. If you have other info, such as hours, price, address, web site, etc, please also list it. There are a pair of fairly comprehensive lists here: http://www.biodiesel.org/buyingbiodiesel/retailfuelingsites/default.shtm and http://afdcmap.nrel.gov/locator/LocatePane.asp

Date: Wed, 11 Jun 2003 11:35:00 -0700 Just so everyone knows, Ethan has been a wonderful distributor, and the reasons for his pump closing are beyond his (or our) control. Thanks to the people who have supported him, and, unless I hear from Ethan that he can re-open, I urge all of you to support Farook's station. Kumar Yokayo Biofuels ...In Sausalito I have convinced a friend who owns a marine diesel shop in Sausalito to start carrying bio-diesel. He will be getting his first delivery from Yokayo on April 1st. If you are interested in getting Biodiesel in Southern Marin or, on your way in or out of San Francisco (it's right off 101) please contact Ethan Hirschfeld at 415-332-3507. This first delivery is to test interest in automotive and marine sales. The cost will be around $3/gal. The more interest he gets the lower the cost can be in the future. The shop is at 265 Gate 5 Rd. From North or South 101 take the Sausalito - Marin City exit and follow signs into Sausalito. This puts you on Bridgeway. Gate 5 Rd will be a left turn a couple lights into town. Found in the "Burnveggies" list. From: Alexander Rose zander@longnow.org (executive director) The Long Now Foundation http://www.longnow.org

Naft Gas 1789 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Fairfax, CA 93930 B100, 24-hrs 9PM, credit cards accepted Today (9/29/2003) my attempt to buy B100 at Naft Gas at 11 PM was unsuccessful because the station and pumps had been turned off. I need to find out what hours they are open. I was hoping this was a 24-7 operation. [/quote] From: "Kumar Plocher" <kumar@ybiofuels.org> To: <burnveggies@goblin.punk.net> Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2003 16:42:52 -0700 Subject: Fairfax station is OPEN!! Hello all, I have just been informed that the Fairfax Naft Gas station, carrying 100% recycled B100 from Yokayo Biofuels, is now open for business. They have 4 pay-at-the-pump biodiesel dispensers pumping from a 4000-gal underground dedicated biodiesel tank! Let's honor Farook Hansia's commitment to biodiesel by giving him a lot of business, and in the meantime, you can count on us at Yokayo to help make his station a good biodiesel information depot and also provide everyone with a cool grand opening date, to be announced... -Kumar of Yokayo Biofuels Price on 10/15/2003 was $2.50/gallon

In San Jose @ Western States Oil (lubeoil.com, T Lopes ...), the gallon price of B100 came down slightly today by about 6 cents, I believe it's 2.659 USD/gal as of this afternoon. For those who haven't filled up here, that fuel is excellent. Larry. (will we see that 20 cent per gal tax offset;)

PaulK, I just spoke with Bill of Valley oil about their biodiesel and he said it was $2.58/gallon PLUS 40c/gallon road tax. I was interested when I saw that you had seen it for $2.12 a gallon....but I guess it isn't :(. When did you see it for $2.12? Ryan

That was what they quoted me when I called in April. Bob is on vacation so I can't get a current price. Maybe he was quoting me before taxes or their cost. I don't know... -PaulK

Kumar, When is Biofuel Oasis opening soon in Berkeley? Or the coop in Fairfax? I don't even have enough fuel to make it down to San Jose and I am loathe to go back to petro diesel.

Biofuel Oasis got their site a while ago but they are still working on the legal paperwork. It's estimated it will be a month or something like that. Both Biofuel Oasis and Biofuel Station in Laytonville (on 101) have been trailblazing in getting regulations changed in their city/county, around the issues of storage. Hopefully this will make it easier for others to open similar fuel depots. Info on how this was done will be available when they open.. I believe that Biofuel Station in Laytonville is already doing delivery in northern Mendocino/southern homboldt (they're also a Yokayo-supplied distributor) mark

Petroleum is located at 2321(?) Third St. You have to enter through the back on Illinois Street between 18th and 19th Street. They won't dispense into small fuel tanks or containers with narrow nozzles. You need large nozzle (bigger than 2-1/2 inch diameter) containers. And the price they quoted me was approximately $3.40. Supposedly they had 68k gallons when I was there on Sept. 11th (with the wrong nozzle size container).
